Pickens Chapter of the South Carolina Society of Medical Assistants

The Pickens Chapter has been fortunate to have some really interesting education sessions recently. Last month a local Infection Prevention Nurse spoke on “The Truth on H1N1”.  The month before, a Red Cross Rep. presented “Be Ready-Disaster Preparedness”. She gave us specifics on what each family/office should have in their disaster preparedness bag/box to sustain them for up to 3 days if confined without water or electricity.

For October and November, we have a Rep. from Carolina Center of Behavioral Health coming to demonstrate and teach us how best to assist our dementia and Alzheimers patients within the office.

SCSMA members and prospective members are always welcome to join us for CEU’s. Our education begins @ 6:30 the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We regularly meet in the Boardroom @ Palmetto Baptist Health –Easley except for our October meeting which will be held in 3rd floor classroom.
